Track and Field Olympian Hazel Clark Selects Harrington Communications as Her Official Public Relations Firm

transparent gifSpringfield, N.J. (July 22, 2004) - Track and field star Hazel Clark is going to the Olympics in Athens with a ring on her finger and a new media agency, Harrington Communications, representing her.

Clark, 26, qualified for the 800-meter run, placing third during the U.S. Olympic Trials. She will compete in her second Olympiad in Athens next month.

"Being in the Olympics is great, and I'm proud as an American to be on the United States Olympic Team," says Clark.

The 26-year-old Clark finished seventh in the 800 at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, with a personal best time of 1:58.75. She won the Olympic Trials in 2000 and was the USA indoor champion in the 800 that year as well.

Clark's determination kept a stress fracture suffered in 2001 from becoming a hurdle to her running career. She looked at the injury not as a setback, but as an opportunity to be a better athlete.

Clark, a native of South Orange, N.J., says she feels at home with Harrington Communications, a New Jersey-based firm. "New Jersey is where my roots are and I trust in Harrington Communications to represent my best interests."

"Hazel is an inspiration and role model for younger generations of athletes and we're proud to represent her," says Angela Harrington, president of Harrington Communications.

Clark is not only an all-American athlete, she's an all-American girl living the all-American dream. Her fiance, Wenston Riley, has big dreams, too. He proposed marriage moments after Clark won a spot on the Olympic team.

For those interested in Clark's marriage plans with Riley, the story has just begun.

Move over Nick and Jessica.
